James 'Bo-Weavil' Jackson was in the vicinity of Birmingham Alabama, although the exact dates and location are unknown.  He is considered one of the earliest country blues performers to be recorded and has produced twelve sides for two different labels (one of which billed him as Sam Butler).  He was discovered in 1926 while singing on a street in Birmingham, Alabama.  His song 'You Can't Keep No Brown' is consider a bottleneck master piece.
